Jim never ceases to amaze me with his poems.

My Prayer
Before the time I go to sleep,
no more tears do I weep.
Instead, quietly I pray,
asking for God to guide my way.
I carefully recite the things I've done,
hoping they were right under the Son.
With great care I listen to what I say,
knowing that it was he that guided my day.
Daily I ask for strength, kindness, and love,
knowing that they are a gift from him above.
Everyday spent here on earth I pray,
that God will walk beside me and show me the way.
Teaching me how I should be,
preparing me for all eternity.
Walking in his likeness for this short time,
knowing that one day that I shall find.
Why I was placed here, for what to learn,
knowing that it won't be long that I have to yearn.
Hoping that when my life is done,
He will say "you did well, my child, my son."
